We want you to have a customized experience at NAMIC’s Annual Convention, which is why we provide a variety of fun optional activities to round out your time with us. We are pleased to offer the below prearranged activities to allow for networking with other Convention attendees and guests as well as for your convenience in planning your visit.

Optional Activity: Cave of the Winds & Garden of the Gods
Saturday, September 26, 1:00 – 8 p.m. MDT Explore the electrically lit portion of Cave of the Winds on a 60-minute guided walking tour which includes 15 rooms, a 1/2 mile of concrete walkways, and 196 stairs. On this family-friendly tour, you will learn about the history and geology of the cave and see some of the most beautiful formations. Garden of the Gods Walking Tour offers a unique and educational experience for visitors. Enjoy a leisurely outing with plenty of photo opportunities and a deeper understanding of the area’s geology and history.

Optional Workshop: Directors’ Bootcamp
Sunday, September 27, 8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. MDT Requires Advance Registration Head out to Convention early to join us for Directors’ Bootcamp. Whether your board members are new to governance, new to insurance, or just need a refresher, this event is a valuable investment in your company’s future. Directors’ Bootcamp attendance is the first step in earning the Mutual Insurance Director (MID) certification. You can add this event to your Convention registration, or if you’d like to register your board to attend only the Directors’ Bootcamp courses, click here to register them separately. Please note: this event is only open to NAMIC member primary insurance carriers.
Optional Activity: Pikes Peak Off Road
Sunday, September 27, 11:00 a.m. – 6 p.m. MDT This historic sightseeing adventure is a great way to enjoy the Pikes Peak region. Our entertaining and informative cowboy guides will take you through time along the foothills of Pikes Peak, highlighting amazing scenery and some of Colorado Springs’ most famous historical sights. Attractions include North Cheyenne Canyon, Helen Hunt Falls, the Short Line Railroad and its 100-year-old tunnels, Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs (Subject to time limitations), and the spectacular red rock park Garden of the Gods. In our open-air Jeeps, your photo opportunities are unobstructed. This tour is approximately 70% paved roads and 30% dirt. The Foothills & Garden of the Gods tour is a fantastic overview of the area.
Optional Activity: Cog Railway
Sunday, September 27, 11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. MDT The Pikes Peak COG Railway in Colorado Springs is nothing short of breathtaking and awe-inspiring. As the train chugs its way up to the summit of Pikes Peak, passengers are treated to an unforgettable journey through the rugged and scenic landscapes of the Rocky Mountains. As the altitude rises, and as the train reaches the summit, the panoramic views from the peak are simply astonishing. Opportunities are given to capture cherished memories with photographs.

Prayer Service and Breakfast
Monday, September 28, 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. MDT Start Convention with this optional, non-denominational worship service and continental breakfast. Enjoy fellowship and a thought-provoking address.
Optional Activity: Red Rocks & Beyond Hike
Monday, September 28, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. MDT Begin with a guided visit to Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, including time to explore the museum perched above the iconic stage. From there, enjoy a 1.2-mile easy-to-moderate hike through the surrounding red rock formations, with knowledgeable guides sharing stories of the park’s geology, natural beauty, and history. Following the hike, continue through the foothills with a scenic pass along the Lariat Loop National Scenic Byway, stopping at Lookout Mountain for sweeping views of the Front Range and the Denver skyline. The experience concludes with time to explore the charming town of Golden, before returning to the hotel.

Tuesday, September 29, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. MDT Step into the spirit of the American West with a memorable two-hour horseback ride through the scenic landscapes of Cherry Creek State Park. This immersive trail ride winds through thick cottonwood groves, open prairie, and swampy lowlands, with unforgettable crossings at two points along the river. Along the way, guests will experience Colorado’s natural beauty from the saddle, guided by experienced wranglers who ensure a safe, relaxed, and authentic ride.Restrictions: Max combined weight 265 (weighed onsite). Cannot be pregnant.
Optional Activity: Brew Master for the Day
Tuesday, September 29, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. MDT Step inside one of Denver’s most unique brewery spaces for an unforgettable behind-the-scenes experience. Guests will enjoy a private guided tour of the iconic FlyteCo Tower, exploring its unique history and brewery space. Then, they'll take part in a hands-on brewing experience led by expert brewers, learning the craft from grain to glass. Over the course of 1.5 to 2 hours, guests will actively participate in the brewing process. The experience wraps up with a curated tasting, sampling fresh brews while soaking in the atmosphere of this one-of-a-kind venue.
